Snow Valley Marine Services Ltd. provides all of the water work at Minette Bay Log Sort, which is one of the two log handling processing facilities on the north coast of BC.  The location in Kitimat is much closer to the wood source than the facility in Prince Rupert - providing lower transportation costs and easier access, both from the woodland to the processing facility and from the processing facility to the lower mainland and Vancouver Island. Because the company is located in Kitimat it is able to provide prompt on demand barging services to industries in the area.  The better weather conditions, quality of road access, and greater number of readily accessible services make barging through Kitimat a more attractive option for northwest regional marine business such as fish farms and logging operations.
