The Streetsville-Meadowvale Figure Skating Club was founded in 1963 and operated for 10 years out of Vic Johnston Arena in Streetsville, Mississauga. The Club needed more ice-time and moved to Meadowvale-4-Rinks after it opened in 1973. At this time we also changed our name from Streetsville Figure Skating Club to Streetsville-Meadowvale Figure Skating Club to give credit to our new surroundings.Since our early days the Club has grown significantly, at present we have more than 500 members who participate in our various programs. We have approx. 380 children signed up for our CanSkate and Pre-CanSkate Programs and approx. 125 are in the STARSkate and Competitive stream. For our STARSkate and Competitive skaters we offer early morning stroking and afternoon and evening Skills, Dance, Stroking and Freeskate sessions all on our heated rink. We also offer an extensive off-ice program to our skaters, they can choose from Pilates, Jump Classes, Ballet and NTC Core Strength Training program. All classes are specifically geared to the needs of figure skaters and are taught in our off-ice room which is equipped with mirrors, ballet bars and exercise equipment.
